Two Month Countdown and Checklist!
By · CommentsTime is flying by; it seems only yesterday that we were considering the games list and here we are at two months out.
So, why is two months a big deal? Well, this is the time that you, as participants, should take a few minutes and get your arrangements made. Now is when you schedule your time off, set up your flight/carpool plans, reserve your room at the Hyatt, get registered, and get connected. Sure, a lot of us are last-minute procrastinators but you will save yourself a headache and some money if you get these items set up now.
To help out, we have put together this checklist for you:
1. Schedule your time off work.
- Include travel days and, perhaps, a day after the event to recover.
- Do not forget that we have a VIP party on Thursday, June 17th from 6:00 – 10:00 PM
2. Make your travel arrangements.
- Decide if you are going to fly or carpool and get the details/reservations secured.
- Shop sites, such as Priceline, for flight deals: http://tickets.priceline.com.
3. Make your reservations at the Hyatt.
- Call 602.252.1234 and give them this discount group code: DEVASTATION.
- The rates are $79 a night.
4. Get registered for DEVASTATION.
- Go to the online registration page and get started: http://www.devastationevent.com/online-registration.
- Registration is only available online, and registration closes June 14th at 9:00 PM PST
5. Get connected with DEVASTATION for all the updates and info leading up to, during, and post-event.

Online Registration Mandatory
By · CommentsRegistration for DEVASTATION 2010 is available online only.
As much as we dislike doing this, we must require that all registrations be completed online; no day-of registrations will be accepted. This does not impact guests and other non-competitors (people who are just coming to hang out, play casual, and/or watch) as they do not have to register and can enter the event free of charge. Anyone that wants to participate at the at the event as a Player or VIP-level must complete the registration form and process. Click here to be taken to the registration page: ONLINE REGISTRATION
The DEVASTATION team has enjoyed some lively debates pertaining to mandatory (online) registration for a couple of years now. We, as an event, truly do want to be accommodating as possible but, sadly, it just is not feasible anymore. Not only is day-of/on-site registration a logistical nightmare when it comes to processing entrants, creating brackets, and managing the flow of the event but is also not fair; it is not fair to all the attendees that did register online and now have to wait hours for the last-minute masses to get registered.
We would rather run an exceptional event for all the participants and the best possible way for us to do that is to require that all registrations are completed online before the event. So, take a few minutes now and get yourself registered: http://www.devastationevent.com/online-registration
Online registration closes Monday, June 14th at 9:00 PM PST
