Player Guide: Tournament Format
Due to the sheer size and scope of DEVASTATION we utilize several tournament methodologies.
DEVASTATION sanctioned tournaments will be run as double-elimination brackets, broken into multiple pools, ending in a semi-finals/finals round.
Here are some visuals to help explain:

Single-Elimination Brackets
- Single-elimination brackets are the same as double-elimination brackets save for that players are removed after a single loss instead of two.
- Competitors are placed into brackets and play matches until a single player remains.

Double-Elimination Pools
- Players are placed into multiple pools and compete until, usually, 4 players are left in each pool.
- A Loss in the pools carries throughout the brackets.

Semi-Finals Brackets
- Players are seeded in a new double-elimination bracket, based on results from the pools. As the losses carry over, half of the players will “start” on the losers side and the other half in the winners. Matches will carry on until the final four players are identified. These final four will move on to the finals.

Finals Bracket
- This bracket is simply a continuation of the semi-finals brackets. Players continue on from their positions and losses are still counted. The finals continue until a single player remains.
