Expectations and Compliance

The following policies, rules and expectations are in place to protect the integrity of the Event as well as the safety of our attendees. In addition to our event policies, attendees are also expected to know and conform to Federal, State, and local laws along with the established policies of the Phoenix Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency. Any violation which involves activities prohibited by law will result in notification of the proper authorities as well as prosecution to the fullest extend of the law.

It is the expectation that everyone understands both these rules as ignorance will not be a suitable excuse for non-compliance. As unforseen circumstances may arise, the Event Director reserves the right to change any rule and/or remove any attendees, at any time, at his sole discretion.

Non-compliance with any policies and rules as stated or implied by DEVASTATION, Lost Bot Productions, or Event facilities can result in an immediate disqualification from a single game, contest or tournament, loss of winner status and prizes, up to removal from the Event and premises and/or legal action, including prosecution.

Code of Conduct

  • Attendees will conduct themselves in a reasonable and polite manner. It is expected that a friendly and courteous demeanor will be maintained toward all attendees, Event staff and officials, members of the press and media, supporters, spectators, and any other persons related to or present at the Event.
  • Abusive or dispruptive behavior of any kind from anyone, including verbal or physical harassment, vulgar language, fighting, and threats are prohibited. Additonally, any actions that are determined to be intentional interferences with the Event, including, but not limited to, game delays, damaging or defacing game stations and/or equipment and/or property, or interrupting other attendee’s games are prohibited as well.
  • Other prohibited actions are, but not limited to, sleeping in event space, destruction or defacement of Convention Center or Hotel property, sexual misconduct of any kind such as indecent exposure, offensive or unwanted touching, sexual harassment as well as any activity prohibited by law.
  • Any attendees that are seen to be intoxicated or under the influence of illicit drugs will be immediately removed from the Event. Non-compliance will result in the appropriate authorities being contacted and your physical removal from the premises.
  • Collaboration, of any kind, is prohibited. If it is determined that any attendee is collaborating or intentionally underperforming both attendees/players may be immediately disqualified and/or removed from the Event. As this is a subjective matter, based on the opinions of the Event staff, it is in attendees’ best interests to always perform to the best of their abilities.
  • Attendees must be available for any and all Event-related appearances, awards ceremonies, presentations, and interviews. By attending the Event all attendees agree to the release and use of any images, videos, audio, or other media content where their exact person or likeness is captured or created.
  • Winners of any prizes will be subject to tax in according to State and Federal law. Winners may be required to supply personal information including, but not limited to: full legal name, mailing address, Social Security Number, email address, contact phone number, and, in the case of children under the age of 18, their parents and/or legal guardians may be required to complete additional information.
  • Non-compliance with any rules as stated or implied by DEVASTATION, Lost Bot Productions, or Event facilities can result in an immediate disqualification from a single game or tournament, loss of winner status and prizes, up to removal from the Event and premises and/or legal action, including prosecution.

Indemnification

All Event attendees shall protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless DEVASTATION, Lost Bot Productions, its affiliated corporations, organizations, partners, sponsors, exhibitors and vendors, their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives, employees and volunteers from and against any and all costs and expenses, damages, claims, suits, actions, liabilities, losses and judgments including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and legal expenses, based on, arising out of or in any way related or connected with the Event or any other matter or activity directly or indirectly related to the Event, including but not limited to libel, slander, disparagement, defamation, copyright infringement, invasion of privacy, piracy, plagiarism, physical, emotional or mental issues or considerations, or infringement of any patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right of any third party. This obligation shall continue beyond the term of the Event.

Ownership

All media, videos, images, broadcasts, streams and content created at or related to DEVASTATION are the sole property of DEVASTATION. Duplication, re-broadcasting, posting, editing, sharing or re-creation in any way is prohibited unless provided written approval by DEVASTATION.

Event Memberships & Badges

  • Event Membership charges and fees are non-refundable.
  • Badges must be worn and visible at all times and any individuals without badges will not be allowed in Event areas.
  • It is unlawful to duplicate DEVASTATION membership badges.
  • Each event membership admits one person to DEVASTATION.
  • Event memberships are non-transfereable and non-replaceable.

Acceptance and Participation

Acceptance of a DEVASTATION Event Pass, badge, or admission or inclusion, all or in part, to the event expressly grants to DEVASTATION, its agents, or assignees, a fully paid, perpetual non-exclusive license to use, display and reproduce your name, image, logo, likeness, trade names and product names in any directory, promotion or advertising (print, electronic or other media now known or hereafter devised). DEVASTATION shall not be liable for any errors in any listing, descriptions or omission pertaining to the information therein.

In accepting a DEVASTATION Event Pass, badge, or admission or inclusion, all or in part, to the event, you agree to all the current terms and conditions, event policies, rules and information as listed on devastationevent.com.

Registration and participation in specific events, tournaments and contests are subject to availability based on schedule, capacity restrictions and the discretion of Event Staff. Event Staff reserves the right to, at any time, make changes, substitutions and deletions.

Animals

Service and assistance animals are permitted in all public areas and at all times. No other animals will be permitted in the event space.

Firearms

As a licensed liquor establishment, the Phoenix Convention Center is governed by Arizona law which prohibits the possession of firearms at the Phoenix Convention Center by any person other than a law enforcement officer. Personal possession of firearms is therefore prohibited, including concealed and non-concealed firearms and weapons.

Children

All children age 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Music

Amplified music is prohibited in the event space.

Curfew

Daily curfew hours for the City of Phoenix are from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM for children 15 years old and younger and 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM for 16 and 17 year olds. Curfew hours apply seven days a week year round. Children that are on legitimate business authorized by a parent or guardian, or in the care and custody of another adult, are not in violation of the curfew ordinance. Phoenix city ordinance code (PCC 22-3) places responsibility on parents and guardians to supervise their juvenile children and to take custody of them if they violate curfew.

Belongings

DEVASTATION is not liable for missing belongings.

Distribution of Fliers or Materials

There will be no distribution or fliers or other materials without prior approval of DEVASTATION. Fliers and other materials left in or near the event space without approval will be discarded.

Hotel Space

Hotel elevators are for hotel guests and event staff only. Please do not loiter in hotel elevators. Please behave respectfully in the hotel space and take care not disturb non-event hotel guest. DEVASTATION attendees who are found disturbing other hotel guests on hotel property are subject to disciplinary action, including removal/access revocation from the event.

Signs

The construction and display of signs, even signs designed to be humorous, by attendees is not allowed. Attendees carrying such signage will be warned and have the sign confiscated. DEVASTATION staff reserves the right to revoke the badges of attendees carrying such signs. Signs that are a necessary part of a costume may be permitted with the approval of convention staff. The posting of signs is prohibited in all event space.
